Rhododendron (23 February 2010)

The area between Tergola (3800m) to Taashi Thang (about 1800m) is one continuous rhododendron forest that are home to at least 35 species of rhododendron. Though most of the forest will be in bloom only a month from now, the lower parts are already flowering. I couldn't resist taking a few pictures while walking from Dorithasa to Dorikha.

Solar eclipse, Thimphu (22 July, 2009)

The moon eclipsed the sun totally early in the morning on 22 July 2009. I enjoyed the breathtaking phenomenon from Kuenselphodrang, above Thimphu, with my family and about a hundred viewers. I don’t have many photographs to share, because I didn’t take many. I had chosen, instead, to immerse myself completely in the very rare moment.
