AS OF TODAY, I AM ALSO GIVING UP RIDING BIKES IN BHUTAN. I HAVE ALSO MANAGED TO CONVINCE ANOTHER TO GIVE UP TOO. THE ROAD RAGE BY OUR MOTORISTS IS SOMETHING THAT CANNOT BE TREATED LIGHTLY. NO MOTORISTS ARE FRIENDLY TOWARDS BIKE RIDERS. I WOULD URGE MANY OTHER RIDERS ALSO TO GIVE A SECOND THOUGHT TO RIDE BIKES ON BHUTAN ROADS SPECIALLY IN THIMPHU. PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE. I WILL NOW JOG OR WALK TO EXERCISE CAUTION OF BEING RUN OVER OR LIFTED BY AN UNFREINDLY MOTORISTS. I HEAR THAT LYONCHEN IS BRINGING IN 500 BIKES FOR ENVIRONMENT FREINDLY PEOPLE TO RIDE TO OFFICE - BUT UNTIL AN INFRASTRUCTURE OR SOME FREINDLY RULE IS PUT IN PLACE - IT IS INDEED VERY RISKY.

Hey OL,
So, you also thought a little exercise will help you.For me, the damn doctor advised that I should at least walk for an hour every day if I don't want, what they call the lifestyle diseases such as high BP, cholesterol and even diabetes to show their ugly heads. They at least hand out a hope that regular exercise will keep old age at bay. Reassuring, one might say.
That's why I also made it a point to walk uphill to Sangagyegang for the last one and half months. It hasn't reduced my tummy, but I feel quite healthy. But getting up early in the morning is one big hassle, considering I have to remain in the office late.
Happy cycling. Enjoy fresh air and healthy life.

Tshering,

Yes, these children are very talented. And you wouldn't be surprised to know that we have lots of football enthusiasts in Thimphu. But the lack of football grounds hurdle the development of the game. To cite an e.g. we have to pay book the ground in advance (as early as Monday) for the weekend football match.

Football is a game which brings people together, it is a good exercise, but unluckily we don't have enough and good football grounds.

we are proud of you OL.
Its good that at least there are some of our leaders that we can count on rather then most of us not even noticing what is happening at our Constitutency after the election or some just making some random visit while going for chokus and to meet family members . It is of great concern that some of us taking extra efforts to go around personally. Some might mirror it as a show made by you, but honestly you could bike else where or even do some thing with your son but with your efforts we can hope for a better democracy and a better tomorrow for us.
Keep it going la.

Dear OL,

I ride bike to office. I have seen your bike parked at the entry gate of NA Hall. I have heard that you ride bike with your car. Safe very safe! Can you do something about the road safety for the bikers.

One senior gentleman came to my office once and after seeing my helmet, he was advising as well as cautioning me about the ill habit of our road users. He shared me about an incident where he was nearly hit by a lady driver and sadly, he gave up biking for good, for life.
