Impersonating OL

A friend of mine asked me to look at a certain Govinda Rizal’s blog. I did. And I was shocked. Mr Rizal claims that we had been in touch. And that I had written to him. I did no such thing. So someone has impersonated me.

I don’t see why anyone would want to pretend to be me. But I’m concerned that this may be an attempt to bring discredit to the opposition. And to defame me.

hi OL. why believe ngolops.they are always into propaganda.more than someone impersonating you, it must be Rizal who lied that he met you.

  2. Hello, I am not really comfortable with these words you used. You saw a person writing in his blog about having written to you – and get a reply back – and you conclude “I don’t see why anyone would want to pretend to be me. But I’m concerned that this may be an attempt to bring discredit to the opposition. And to defame me.”

These are very STRONG conclusions and can mean anything. I have a feeling that you have a doubt that someone who supports the ruling party imitated you. Firstly, did you contact that guy and learn if he really did get an email from you (or whoever it might be)? Just because he claims doesn’t mean he actually did it (he might be just writing a propaganda build on lies). If he confirms he really did receive an email, ask him to publish the original email WITH FULL HEADER information – or better still, ask him to forward that mail to your legitimate address. Ask him the email address he used to contact you. Those steps can be taken to see if he really meant what he wrote.

I read that article quite a long time back (about four or five months ago) and just thought you acted like an immature brat there, but I never took it seriously. I should say these: I am not really happy – but who cares right? – with the way you dealt with this issue. You came across to me as a person who trusted Govinda Rizal more than you trust our people.

Anyways, all of us know that his main purpose of writing such articles is to gain publicity. If you didn’t write it, just leave a comment on that same blog saying you didn’t write the mail – if he ever got one – and let us stop creating further fuss which is only going to make his dream come true.

    Dear OL,

You must definately find out more about this becasue such things are not acceptable. I still believe that there are many Lhotsampas who do not feel Bhutanese…..I live in the west and I am so annoyed with this constant questions re refugees. I don’t want to generalise but I find it difficult to mingle with Lhotsampas. If I am a Lhotsampa, I would set up a similar blog to counter argue these refugees blogs.

  4. They have become so desperate to gain media attention and dragging all high profile. The OL is definitely being victimised, and we must stand united against such things.

  5. Thinley says:

yes, we ( me a sharchop, Ngalops, lhotsampas and all ) must stay united. I am getting sick of this refugee issues…..to the point where I am becoming irrational

  6. Thinley says:

THE BOTTOM LINE IS NOT TO ENTERTAIN SUCH BLOGS, THREADS…ECT….

  7. OL la,

These days anything can be on the web. I agree with some of the commentators before me that you should just make one post in your blog or that particular blog that it is not you and leave it there. NO NEED TO DIG DEEPER AS SOME SUGGESTS. It is no point giving due importance to such falsified stories. Just concentrate on mor crucial bigger national issues that will earn you fame and recognition. But just ignore and forget that blog where you were mentioned. I ahve not read it and have no desire to read it since you already clarified about the impersonation.

  8. Teacher says:

    Hi OL,
Did you come across this wonderful blog by an American volunteer teaching in Bhutan. Surf this blog and give you mind a break from that worthless impersonating stuff.
    http://www.teachinginbhutan.blogspot.com/

    ENJOY.

  9. Seeing that there is a natural rift between the ruling and opposition party in Bhutan, you are trying to create a false image of the opposition for the ruling party to pick on.
This will not work for we stand united against all external threat and malicious mater minded plots to de-stablize our country.
You will not succeed and we will not allow it.

  10. Rizal or whatever is your name remember You will not succed.

  11. Even if you did write to him what’s the big deal. You are a free Bhutanese in a democratic Bhutan. Why should there be a problem in exercising your freedom, unless it is bad for your political career.

We are talking of a new era that is increasingly being determined by technology alone.

    • droj, you are correct – it’s no big deal even if I’d written to him. But when I haven’t, and am being quoted, it’s my duty to say that I haven’t. You are also correct about technology playing an increasingly important role (hence this blog, for example). But we must also be vigilant that technology is not misused.

  12. Govinda Rizal says:

    MY appology My clearification

Dear all. First of all I thank you for relaying the link of this discussion to me. I went through the details.

It was my response to an imposter who claimed to be Tshering. The story began like this. It may go bit long. But i will continue in two parts, if needed…..

………While this does not include the numerous discussion those took place during that period and there after. This is the fact behind the blog you mentioned.

I wish i had sent the reply after confirming it. I did it before. That is where i wrinkle my face everytime when google search brings this story against my name. I feel you must be getting it thus too.
I wish the readers understand the clear position of Mr Tshering.

I shall try to post this write up also in that blog.
    Regards

    Govinda Rizal

  13. Good dialogue and understanding between Govinda Tobgay and Tshering Rizal! End of the story

  14. i can’t beleive a. that govinda rizal admitted this impersonification so soon
    b. that an apology was accepted so simply.
this is a serious offence i think and impersonating is not ordinary or something that is done for fun….
