Running comments

I like receiving your comments. They show that you are concerned about the issues raised here. And that you are prepared to discuss them. Naturally, I enjoy comments that agree with and support my views. Please keep them coming! But I find critical comments – even those that are not obviously constructive – useful too. I read them carefully. And reread them.

I don’t like editing your comments. And, except for the one time I erased an obscenity, I have not edited any. I don’t reject comments.

But I’m closing one on-going discussion. I’m forced do so.

“Bhutanese runner” has attracted a lot of attention. That is good. That is the idea. But it has become painful to follow the discussions, which, increasingly, have been dominated by personal attacks. And that is not good for all of us.

So, with a heavy heart, I will not allow any more comments on “Bhutanese runner”. I hope you will agree – Rinzin, after all, is not a public figure.

We, Bhutanese, do make a fool of ourselves. We are never happy with anything – grumbling may be in out blood. It is sad to see some of the comments. Whatever, Mr. Rinzin is running the NYC marathon. His entry number is 350397 and you can see it for yourself by doing a search by country here at the NYC marathon website

And we should wish him well…

    Honourable OL,

As the owner of the media you have the right and also the responsibility to do that. In fact you should do that because our laws are quite clear. You could be sued.

While I understand your intent to keep it open, please be informed that even in the most open societies untoward attacks or racial remarks are not tolerated.

You have to chair the discussions and shut off comments and views that you feel are inappropriate

I knew this day would come and I am not surprised. This is not something new to my ears. Some people are just jealous because they couldn’t get this opportunity or they are useless in life and out of frustration, they just go BLAH BLAH BLAH about you.
Mr. Rinzin (officially selected for world class marathon) don’t listen to these crappy people who has negative things to say. Their eyes hurt when you shine over them.

JUST GO AND RUN FOR BHUTAN.

  4. NEW YORK GUY says:

WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. RINZIN IS RUNNING FOR BHUTAN AND THERE IS NO HARM IN DOING THAT.

  5. Rinzin,

When people talk negative things about you, it shows that you are 2 steps ahead of them. So, don’t you worry about anything.

RUN – just like Forrest Gump or
should I say ‘ Run Bhutanese Forrest Gump Run’? I hope Tom Hanks is not reading this.

    To Rinzin’s sponsor:
We are grateful for sponsoring someone like Mr. Rinzin.

    Well Wisher
