None of our newspapers covered this important event. They should have.

  1. Is it not the Royal Media office who should be covering the event and passing the information to other media for coverage?

  2. The event was indeed very important, and we wanted to cover it, as did all the other papers, I am sure. However, the Royal Office for Media, which was responsible for the press release, did not give out the pictures, saying that the zakar was not good. We were all very disappointed to not be able to publish this happy news, as were our readers, I am sure.
My heartiest tashi delek for the royal couple from the media fraternity.

  4. I personally congratulate the royal couple on their marriage and I sincerely wish them a very happy married life together. May the Triple Gem bless them with beautiful childrens, good health, long life and prosperity of wealth.

But is it necessary to publicize each and every royal nuptials like these in our newspapers? I don’t think so. They are royals and they should enjoy the privelege of the royal privacy and respect as all the royal families in other countries do. We should not make a “news” of such royal occasions. If at all, it should be a brief one as done by the Kuensel.

Also, unlike other countries, we have a dozen of royal prince and princesses and imagine how people will feel like if they frequently read news about royal nuptials every now and then? We have got ten royal prince and princess which means ten royal nuptials, which means ten royal in-laws, which means ten royal in-laws of in-laws, and the chain reaction will continue until one day you may hear your next door neighbour brag he is a royal! Therefore, I honestly think that the private royal lives and the private royal ceremonies are best kept secret and above all bounds for the common people but limited to only those priveleged ones so that the royals will enjoy their private lives as we do with our lives, and most importantly, avoid the risk of the common people being deluded by some ill people to understand that the royals are buliding a network of family ties to rule our country. That is utterly nonsense but there is a real danger in there. This world is a world of full of propaganda and gossips and our royals and our people should be very careful about it.

    Tashi Delek.

  5. yes, I agree with the previous poster. I really don’t understand why the honorable MP feels that every royal wedding should be splashed across every newspaper. If we do that soon every elite family in Bhutan will want their marriage to be covered by the media.

  6. I agree with the honourable MP.Media should have covered the Royal Wedding. And I also agree with Tangba but for some people like me, who’s like crazy about the Royal Princes and Princesses,it means a lot to know about such important events.I hope Media will not fail to cover any Royal Weddings that are to come in the future.
